薬院スクールでのトライアルレッスン

皆さんこんにちは。

ウインザー英会話での仕事で最も好きな事の1つは、生徒さんに出会うことです。
新しい人々に出会い、彼らの目標達成のためにできる事を見つける。その素晴らしい機会であるトライアルレッスンが大好きです。

トライアルレッスンにやって来る多くの生徒さんが緊張していると言いますが、そう心配される事はありません。
よくご理解頂けるように、トライアルレッスンで行う事について説明します。

Step 1 - スモールトークと目標について（日本語）
まず最初に、ウインザー英会話のトライアルレッスンは、通常、私ティムが行います。
始めに、生徒さんの目標やどうやってこのスクールを知り、なぜこのスクールを選んだかなど、いくつかの一般的な質問をします。その後、生徒さんがプライベート/ グループどちらを検討されているかや、普段いつレッスンを受けられるかなどを伺います。
これらはすべて日本語で行います。

Step 2 - レベルチェック（英語）
ここからは英語に移ります。
生徒さんへは、事前に自己申告のレベルの予習用フラッシュカードを送っています。
ここではフラッシュカードの内容を使い、会話スキルや文法、ボキャブラリーのレベルチェックのためのいくつかの質問を行います。
生徒さんのレベルや文法のニーズをよりよく把握するため、間違いを恐れずに気軽に、できるだけ沢山話してみて下さい。ミスをしなければ英語は上達しません、上達のために必要なステップなのです。

Step 3 - トライアルレッスン (英語)
生徒さんのレベルがわかったら、20-30分のトライアルレッスンを行います。ここではウインザー英会話でどのようにレッスンが行われているかを知ることができます。
私は長い間英語を教えて来ましたが、楽しむ事と学ぶ事、これらを良いバランスで提供できるよういつも心掛けています。
レッスンを通して、楽しく、沢山話し、学び、上達するべきです。

Step 4 - スクールについてのインフォメーション - Ｑ＆Ａ  (日本語)
トライアルレッスン終了後は、教材やシステム、月謝などについてご説明致します。
その後、スクールにご入会頂き、すばらしい英会話学習の道のりをご一緒できる事を願っています!!

Meeting a trial student at our Yakuin School

Hello everyone,

One of my favourite parts of my job in Windsor Eikaiwa is meeting our trial students. I love our trial lessons because it’s a great opportunity to meet new people and find out how we can help them achieve their goals.

A lot of our trial students come to the school and say that they are nervous. In fact there is very little to be nervous about and I’d like to explain what happens in the trial lessons so you can get a very good idea of what to expect. 

Step 1 - Small Talk and Ask about Student’s Goals (In Japanese)
First of all, in Windsor Eikaiwa the trial lessons are usually taught by me and we always start with some general questions (in Japanese) where I ask the student their goals, how they found out our school and why they chose it. Then I usually ask if the student is thinking of a private or a group class and to tell me generally speaking when they would like to take their classes. The whole part is done in Japanese.

Step 2 - Level Check (In English)
After that we usually change to English, we have already sent the students some general pre-study flashcards appropriate for their levels and using those I ask a number of different questions checking the students conversational skills, grammar knowledge and vocabulary. 

I always ask students to try and speak as much as possible so I can get a better idea of their level and grammar needs and please feel free to make mistakes. If you don’t make mistakes you can’t improve your English, it’s a necessary step to improvement. 

Step 3 - Trial Lesson (In English)
Finally, after I have gotten a general idea of what the student’s level is, then I give them a 20-30 minute trial lesson so that they can understand how we teach English here in Windsor Eikaiwa. I have been teaching English for a very long time and I always try to have a good balance of fun and education when teaching English. Our lessons should be fun, and students should talk a lot and should learn and improve during our classes. 

Step 4 - Information about our School - QnA (In Japanese)
After the trial lesson is over then we talk about different aspects of the school, our materials, our system, our fees and then hopefully our students will join our school and we can start the wonderful journey of studying English together!!

See! It’s all easy peasy and there is no need to be nervous, I’ll do my best to make you feel comfortable, improve during the class and show you that studying in English is fun!
